If you read the February issue of the Art With No Boundaries Ezine you will recognize the main focal point of this altered board book as the Asian Twinchie, I promised  would be recycled and  make a comeback as something more. The main design is one of my Traditional Asian Domino Digital Stamp design. I had originally intended to make a magnet out of it but think it is better suited as the main focal point of this bold and beautiful book which can have a special place on one of the shelves of my art room and be more easily enjoyed when I am in there creating.

The book base is made with just two pages a recycled child’s board book. After tearing off all the glossy top layer off of the pages, I  gave them a coat of brown acrylic paint and then covered them with red  cardstock that had several art quotes printed on them.

The layer with the gold dots is Handmade Asian paper which has been glued onto several layers of cardstock  and trimmed to frame the Asian Twinchie. For a little extra depth I added a copper key. The pages inside the book are blank, ready to add something to them at a later date.
