An Expressive and Innovative Mixed Media Art Ezine for Paper Crafters, Collage and Assemblage Artists

Victorian Canvas Bookmark

By Annie Gilmour
The Victorian Millinery image was printed on to canvas and again coloured with markers. You could  also use pencils. ( Be careful using water colours/brushes on the canvas as the ink may bleed.)  (A clear embossing pen and embossing powders around the lines of the image and  heat set on the canvas may be a way round this )

I cut the tag shape and then punched a hole in the top, adding some ribbon from my stash.
Lace and more ribbons were adhered to the bottom of the bookmark.

A little pearl was adhered to the hat and completed this project, which would be a lovely gift

  1. Annie, I love the simple charm of this Art Tag, both the coloring and the bits of lace and beads on the bottom give it a beautiful, quaint and elegant look and really does look like it belongs in the Victorian Era.
